KS MUP questions parents over death of four-month-old baby, father detained

A four-month-old child died in the Sarajevo municipality of Novi Grad on Saturday, and today two people, the baby's parents, were brought to the premises of the KS MUP, with the father being detained, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

- On 29.11.2014, the III Police Station was informed that a team from the Sarajevo Canton Emergency Medical Service intervened in Avde Hodžića Street, Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality. The doctor on duty confirmed the death of the four-month-old child. The Prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo was informed of the above, and an investigation was conducted by police officers of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton. The prosecutor ordered an autopsy of the deceased child. On 01.12.2014, after the autopsy, the forensic medical examiner determined that the child's death occurred violently due to severe head injuries - it was announced.

On 01.12.2014, police officers of this Ministry found and summoned to the official premises the parents L.E., born in 1993, and P.I., born in 1994, residing in Sarajevo. Criminal processing of the mentioned persons is underway, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they may be linked to the commission of the criminal offense under Article 166 of the Criminal Code of FBiH (Murder). After its completion, in consultation with the prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo, legal measures will be taken against the mentioned persons.
