KS Ministry of Interior and SPS transfer over 400 migrants from Sarajevo streets to Blažuj

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Taking measures and actions, in accordance with the conclusions of the Sarajevo Canton Government and the orders of the Federal Civil Protection Staff, police officers of the Directorate of Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, during the past two days, carried out an operation of finding, controlling, and relocating migrants found in open public spaces and illegal private accommodations in the Sarajevo Canton area.

In cooperation with the Service for Foreigners' Affairs of the Ministry of Security of BiH and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), over 400 migrants were accommodated in the Blažuj migrant center, where the necessary conditions for their accommodation were previously secured, it was announced from the KS Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the next period, police officers of the Directorate of Police of the KS Ministry of Internal Affairs will carry out direct external security and patrols of migrant centers in the Sarajevo Canton area, and will also continue activities to relocate this category of persons who may be found outside these centers, all with the aim of preventing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
