Mulaomerović is no longer the coach of the BiH basketball team

Dubravko Barbarić, Secretary General of the Basketball Federation of BiH confirmed for N1 that Damir Mulaomerović is no longer the coach of BiH because his contract was only valid for the qualifications, thus officially ending his engagement today.

After the end of the qualification cycle for Eurobasket and recent events in and around the national team, the coach of the BiH basketball team Damir Mulaomerović addressed the public with an open letter:

- After the concluded qualification cycle in which, unfortunately, we did not achieve our set goal, in accordance with my previous statements, I inform the public of Bosnia and Herzegovina that I am resigning from the position of coach of the basketball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Being appointed as the coach of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the trust shown by the leadership of the BiH Basketball Federation represented a great honor and obligation for me.

With a sense of pride, I thank the national team players with whom I have worked in recent months, and I wish them much sporting and personal success. I wish Nedim Buza and Nemanja Gordić, who were injured, a quick and successful recovery.

I also thank the Basketball Federation of BiH, which provided maximum conditions for preparations and matches, as well as our sincere fans.

The national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina should not worry about its future, because generations have emerged and are emerging who will, I hope, proudly and with special enthusiasm wear the national team jersey - Mulaomerović stated.

Mulaomerović was elected coach in May 2016.
