Muhasilović on November 25th: It is a great blessing to have your own state, there are 5,000 nations in the world, and 200 states

(Patria) - A lecture titled “The Significance of November 25th for Bosnia and Bosniaks” was held at the Firdevs Cultural Center in Jablanica on Saturday, organized by the Emel association (Association for Positive Social Change). The lecture was also held in Jajce.

The lecturer was Dr. Jahja Muhasilović, a prominent expert in international relations and a professor at the International University of Sarajevo and a member of “Guardians of Bosnia.”

Muhasilović spoke about the importance of November 25th, the Day of Statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for Bosniaks.

“The state protects what is sacred to every person, and that is honor, life, and property. Even if it is based on secular principles, it has a duty to protect exactly that. The state is a great blessing. It is a great blessing to have your own state. Today in the world, it is estimated that there are 5,000 nations, and only 200 states. BiH renewed its statehood with ZAVNOBiH, it did not receive it. BiH is mentioned for the first time in history in the early Middle Ages. The first foreign document mentioning BiH is from the 11th century,” stated Muhasilović.

He spoke about the events that marked the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from those who conquered it to the aggression during which it defended itself and was defended from the aggressors.

Dr. Jahja Muhasilović is an assistant professor in the Department of International Relations at the International University of Sarajevo. He graduated from the University of Sarajevo and obtained his master's degree from the University of Istanbul. He earned his doctorate from Boğaziçi University in Turkey, where he defended his thesis on Turkish public diplomacy and soft power in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sandžak. His research focuses on geopolitics, Balkan politics, and Turkish foreign policy.
