Mostar Diving Competition on July 28: Balić Does Not Want Listo to Give Up Further Competition

MOSTAR, (Patria) - The traditional 453rd high diving competition from the Old Bridge on the last Sunday in July will gather numerous divers from Mostar and the region. The dives begin at 4:00 PM, and the final number of divers (Mostar swallow and feet-first jump) will be known after the medical examination just before the event. This year also marks the 15th anniversary of the reconstruction of the bridge that connects the banks of the Neretva River.

In addition to the dives themselves, other activities will be organized, such as coffee from the largest Vispak coffee pot, the opening of a zip-line, a new tourist attraction, a backgammon tournament, a concert, and the promotion of the new album by the Mo Army band. The event will conclude with a traditional torchlight procession.

The president of the Diving Club "Mostari", Semir Drljević, said that the dives from the Old Bridge are priceless and belong to the intangible cultural heritage.

Thousands of visitors are expected on the banks of the Neretva.

This year, Lorens Listo was supposed to say goodbye to active competition, and if he wins, he will have 13 victories, matching the legend of Mostar, Emir Balić. This is precisely the reason why Listo no longer wants to compete.

Balić emphasized that he would still like Listo to continue competing, but that his intention is a great compliment to him.

The general patron of this year's dives is the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić, the sports partner is the Olympic Committee of BiH, and the dives were also supported this year by the Tourist Board of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and sponsors.
