Mostar Plaza Violated New Law Last Sunday, But Will Apparently Comply Tomorrow

(Patria) - The only shopping mall in FBiH that ignored the new Law on Internal Trade last week and decided to work on Sundays, seems to have changed its mind.

This Sunday, Shopping Mall Plaza in Mostar will not be open, writes BiznisInfo.ba. Let us remind you that last Sunday was the first non-working day for retailers in the territory of FBiH.

However, Shopping Mall Plaza in Mostar was open and even sent a notification to its tenants at the end of last week, stating that they were "ready to pay any penalty orders if there are any for any store that is open on Sunday in our and your center".

The management of the Shopping Mall invoked a decision by the City of Mostar Council from 2021.

Namely, they were granted an exemption from the City of Mostar's decision on working hours, which allowed them to work on Sundays instead of Mondays.

In addition, they invoked a provision of the new federal law which states that retailers have six months to adapt to the new regulation.

On Sunday, the inspection visited this Shopping Mall and the stores that were open.

However, this Sunday will be a non-working day for them. As informed by Plaza, business entities will be closed tomorrow.

It is not known whether this applies only to this Sunday, and what decisions will be made in the future.
