Wet and slippery roads across BiH, drivers advised caution

(Patria) - In most of Bosnia and Herzegovina, traffic is moving on wet and locally slippery roads this morning. Due to rain affecting certain regions, and locally heavier precipitation and thunderstorms, drivers are advised to exercise extra caution. There is a possibility of encountering larger amounts of water on the road, so we advise drivers to adjust their driving and speed to current road conditions. Due to the mentioned weather conditions, we recommend avoiding sudden braking and increasing the distance between vehicles.

We ask all traffic participants for patience and compliance with traffic regulations and signals.

Due to frequent landslides, we highlight the following roads: Bihać-Srbljani-Bosanska Krupa, Crna Rijeka-Jajce, Turbe-Karanovac, Bugojno-Kupres, Kladanj-Vlasenica, Simin Han-Banj Brdo, Srebrenik-Šićki Brod-Olovo, Ribnica-Banovići, Sarajevo-Foča, Foča-Šćepan Polje, Jablanica-Mostar, Mostar-Doljani, Buna-Masline and Višegrad-Vardište, as well as the mountain passes Rostovo (Novi Travnik-Bugojno), Mlinište (Glamoč-Mrkonjić Grad) and Makljen (Prozor-Gornji Vakuf/Uskoplje).

Roadworks are ongoing on the A1 motorway section Podlugovi - Sarajevo north, as well as on the main roads: Semizovac-Olovo, Jablanica-Prozor (Mirci) and Posušje-GP Osoje.

We remind you that on the main road Jablanica-Blidinje, traffic is allowed for all vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes total weight.

At border crossings, waiting times for passenger vehicles are currently no longer than 10 to 30 minutes. The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.

Please note that waiting times at border crossings are subject to frequent changes. Drivers have access to video surveillance cameras on our website www.bihamk.ba.

Traffic is prohibited for vehicles over 5 tonnes maximum permissible weight at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Freight vehicles over 5 tonnes are redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses may use the Šepak border crossing. Freight vehicles may cross at the Šepak border crossing from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 22:00 to 06:00 (on weekends they may cross during the 22:00 to 06:00 period).
