Wet road surface, landslides of earth and stones possible in mountainous areas

(Patria) - In most of Bosnia and Herzegovina this morning, traffic is on wet and occasionally slippery road surfaces. Due to rain that has affected some regions, and due to locally heavier rainfall and thundershowers, drivers are advised to exercise additional caution.

In higher mountainous areas and over passes, landslides of earth and stones onto the road surface are possible. On open sections, crosswinds are possible, especially in Herzegovina.

Due to the aforementioned weather conditions, we recommend avoiding sudden braking and increasing the distance between vehicles. We ask all road users for patience and to comply with traffic regulations and signage.

Works are currently underway on the A1 motorway section Podlugovi - Sarajevo sjever, as well as on the main roads: Semizovac-Olovo, Jablanica-Prozor (Mirci) and Posušje-GP Osoje.

We remind you that traffic for all vehicles up to 3.5 tons of total mass is allowed on the Jablanica-Blidinje main road.

At border crossings, waiting times for passenger vehicles are currently no longer than 10 to 30 minutes. The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons.

We note that waiting times at border crossings are subject to frequent changes. Drivers have access to video surveillance cameras on our website www.bihamk.ba.

Traffic is prohibited for vehicles over 5 tons of maximum permissible mass at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Trucks over 5 tons are redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses can use GP Šepak. Trucks can travel through GP Šepak from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 22:00 to 06:00 (on weekends, they can cross between 22:00 and 06:00).
