(Patria) - The humanitarian race "My Steps for Children's Happiness" was held today on Wilson's Promenade in Sarajevo, organized by the association "Ruku na srce" and "Trčanje i to".
The goal of the race was to raise funds for scholarships for primary and secondary school students from families with lower material status.
The most important goal has been achieved - the association "Ruku na srce" will announce a public call for scholarships for over 25 schoolchildren from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming period.
The scholarship fund for schoolchildren, in addition to funds from race participation fees, was secured through numerous donations from legal and natural persons collected throughout the year, both from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora.
The organizers thank all donors, without whom, as they say, they would not have succeeded. Although the race has ended, the call for donations remains open to further increase the scholarship fund.
"All scholarship recipients, from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, will also be volunteers of the association 'Ruku na srce'. This unique concept is a way of giving back to the community, and we are particularly proud of it, as we are making a difference together," they stated.
- We are endlessly grateful to all our runners, and our sponsors, and especially our partners, the association "Trčanje i to". Thanks to them, we have managed to achieve the goal we hoped for.
Our schoolchildren will have scholarships for the next year that will surely help them achieve even greater success - said Jasmin Ćesir, president of the association "Ruku na srce".
- It is a special feeling to run for such a humanitarian cause. The partnership with the association "Ruku na srce" is special for us because we achieve results together that we are very proud of - says Jasmin Harbinja, president of the association "Trčanje i to".
Over a hundred runners, in the beautiful ambiance of Wilson's Promenade, showed their exceptional physical abilities, and with their steps, they showed that humanity comes first. The organizers thank all participants and look forward to meeting again.
They extended special thanks to the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, the staff of the Emergency Medical Service Institute, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, and the National Museum for their assistance in realizing the race.
