My dismissal has a political background, I will seek justice in court

Two days ago, the Management Board of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo abruptly dismissed Prof. Dr. Damir Aganović from the position of director. Seven out of 11 members of the Management Board, headed by Prof. Dr. Mehmed Gribajčević, voted for his dismissal.

In an interview with the Patria news agency, Aganović stated that no one had informed him before the Management Board meeting that his dismissal was being prepared.

AGANOVIĆ: However, it had been talked about in the corridors for a long time. Two months ago, a point announcing my dismissal was on the agenda of the Management Board, but it was simply skipped, and the daily newspaper Avaz wrote about my dismissal that day.

PATRIA: How do you interpret the statements of Management Board member Dr. Haris Tanović that your dismissal is merely a result of aligning legal norms at KCUS?

AGANOVIĆ: Tanović's statements are completely untrue and unfounded, as all legal norms have been met, and expert and supervisory bodies have been formed in accordance with the current statute of KCUS.

PATRIA: According to your knowledge, what is the real reason for your dismissal?

AGANOVIĆ: I don't know the real reason for the dismissal, but there is a possible political background, which will become clear in the near future.

PATRIA: You announced further action. Against whom will you file a complaint?

AGANOVIĆ: I will file criminal charges against KCUS, and against the members of the Management Board who voted for my dismissal, completely illegally, without respecting the procedure.

PATRIA: Who voted for your dismissal in the Management Board, how many members? It is known that not all members supported this decision.

AGANOVIĆ: Three serious, responsible members of the Management Board were against this way of working, wanting to respect legal regulations. One member was absent. You can find other details in the minutes of the last session of the KCUS Management Board.
