A conference titled „Models for Financing Energy Efficiency in the Residential Sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina“ is being held in Sarajevo, supported by USAID, the company ENOVA, and the organization Habitat for Humanity International.
The goal of this conference is to initiate a dialogue among key stakeholders on finding
an efficient model for financing energy efficiency measures in the residential sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The conference presents past experiences in this field in BiH, examples of good practice from the region, as well as new programs of international financial institutions and donors in BiH. The conference program involves key actors from this sector, including representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as domestic and international financial institutions, who will, through panel discussions, present their views and concrete proposals for possible solutions regarding the financing
of energy efficiency measures in BiH, as well as improving cooperation and coordination among relevant stakeholders.
USAID, as the project donor, supports key reforms in the energy sector of BiH with a special emphasis on improving the living conditions of low-income households, reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.
USAID is currently providing assistance to the energy sector in BiH through two projects: USAID REELlH - Energy Efficiency in Multi-Family Buildings for Low-Income Households and USAID ElA - Energy Sector Investment, which address the elimination of key barriers in the energy and energy efficiency sectors in our country.
Effective building renovation in BiH is a major investment that can stimulate the development of the local economy and have a long-term positive impact on the environment. Therefore, the key challenge is how to develop an effective financing model and implement solutions that will enable large-scale renovation programs in BiH.
