(Patria) - The peak of Bjelašnica measured an excellent 150 cm yesterday, and this is also one of the highest depths in January in the past 10 years. Snow fell last night as well.
These are data from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose data was retrieved via the infoclimat website.
For comparison, in February 2012 it measured “only” 262 cm, on February 21. Higher snow depths were recorded on March 7, 2015 with 325 cm, and on March 24, 2006 with 345 cm.
"However, winter lovers can be very satisfied with this winter in the mountains. New snowfall arrives again on Friday thanks to a cyclone from the south, and precipitation during Sunday still depends on the solutions of numerical models," said Nedim Sladić.
Today in Bosnia and Herzegovina, partly clear before noon. There will be a lot of fog in the basins. Cloudy in the second half of the day. Weak wind from the south and southeast. Maximum daily air temperature mostly between 3 and 8°C, and in the far south of the country up to 11°C.
In Sarajevo, mostly cloudy. Maximum daily air temperature around 4°C.
