Young People of Srebrenica Get a Place Where They Can Create a Better Future

(Patria) - Young people of Srebrenica and the Podrinje region today received the Futures Makerspace, a center where they will be able to realize their ideas for projects and startups, in order to help the work and development of the local community.

The Futures Makerspace is located in the Srebrenica High School Center.

The project initiator is the BH Futures Foundation, a non-governmental organization with a clear mission to turn the young talents of our country into future leaders and to break down existing ethnic barriers through access to education and technology. It has hundreds of students behind it who, thanks to a unique scholarship program and support in various forms, have learned new skills, started their own businesses, gone to study at some of the most prestigious universities in the world, and secured jobs at the best companies in the country.

"Education, leadership, and technology are our three focus points. As a Foundation, through our work, we try to offer young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina everything that their peers in other countries already have, so that we as a country can develop and move forward. This center will be a place where young people of Srebrenica and Podrinje can learn and create fantastic things to help their community," said at the opening ceremony Edhem Eddie Čustović, one of the founders of the BH Futures Foundation.

The Futures Makerspace center is equipped with computers, information technologies, 3D printers, electronic development boards, drones, and various other tools that young people will be able to use without any conditions. Except one: to learn and help the local community! The center will be digitally connected with partner organizations from all cities in BiH, including JSGuru Kliker School from Banja Luka, DKR Robotics Center from Tuzla, and SPARK from Mostar.

A plan of activities has already been compiled, and top experts, volunteers, and students will come to Srebrenica to work with young people, the local community, and businesses.

It is important to note that this is just the first in a series of Makerspace centers that the Foundation plans to open across Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future.
