(Patria) - The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mission) condemns all forms of violence, including those directed at political actors, journalists and other citizens.
Violence, in any form, must never be used or tolerated as a means of political expression.
Such actions undermine the principles of democracy and threaten the safety of individuals and communities as a whole.
The attacks that citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina have witnessed in recent days, such as the attack on Nebojša Vukanović, the opposition leader in the RS, and the targeting of Goran Dakić, a journalist from Oslobođenje, point to a dangerous trend.
We welcome the swift and thorough action of the authorities in investigating the incidents, with the aim of ensuring justice and accountability for the perpetrators.
The Mission calls on all leaders, including in the Republika Srpska, to refrain from dangerous rhetoric that could jeopardize the personal safety of citizens and create insecurity in their communities.
