Jovica Mirosavljević, appointed as the head of the SIPA Special Unit by Goran Zubac, the convicted former director of this institution, is collecting money from special forces members to buy Zubac a watch and give it to him as a token of gratitude for everything Zubac has done, the Patria news agency learns.
Goran Zubac, by a decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was found guilty of the criminal offense of negligent work in service and sentenced to a suspended prison sentence of one year. When many expected that he would possibly be stripped of the ranks, recognitions and awards he received, because he left the service dishonorably, loyal cadres want to reward him.
Jovica, known as Chetniks, became famous after photographs were published showing him wearing a leather jacket with the inscription "Chetniks", as well as information that he is a sympathizer of the Ravna Gora Chetnik movement. Incidentally, together with Zubac, he literally drove out Bosniaks and Croats from the Special Unit, as well as from more important positions in SIPA, and now he apparently wants to thank him for that act.
Many members of the Special Unit were left bewildered when the commander informed them that they needed to contribute money to buy a gift for the dismissed Zubac.
As Patria learns, Mirosavljević goes to Zubac in Trebinje in an official vehicle and in uniform, but he is also increasingly nervous as the election of a new SIPA director approaches.
Zubac rewarded Mirosavljević with a leadership position, after Jovica arrested the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Živko Budimir.
The special forces officer of special trust of the former SIPA director Goran Zubac began his police career in April 1992, when, as a student of the Police School in Vraca, he immediately switched to the side of the Ministry of Interior of the Republika Srpska.
With a white band on his arm (which was a sign of identification for Serbs), armed with a rifle, Mirosavljević was then seen at the site of the murder of young cadet Samir Mišić, as some of his former colleagues publicly testified.
Incidentally, this case is at the Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton.
