Minister Bošnjak and Governor Selimović Discuss Strengthening Institutional Cooperation in the Context of EU Integration

(Patria) - Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH Dubravka Bošnjak met today with the Governor of the Central Bank (CB) of Bosnia and Herzegovina Jasmina Selimović.

The interlocutors discussed strengthening institutional cooperation in areas of common interest, including financial literacy, educational programs, and processes related to European integration.

The importance of PISA testing for Bosnia and Herzegovina was particularly emphasized as an objective international measure of students' functional knowledge, which enables data-driven policy-making and comparability with the educational systems of other countries.

Information was exchanged on how macroeconomic stability and monetary policy, within the competence of the Central Bank, can influence the planning and implementation of public policies in the areas of education, social protection, and the labor market, in which the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH has a coordinating role between different levels of government.

Governor Selimović presented Bosnia and Herzegovina's progress in the process of joining the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), which simplifies and standardizes cross-border payment transactions and improves the integration of the domestic financial system with the market of the European Union and the region.

The role of financial literacy as part of educational policies that can contribute to greater citizen awareness, better personal finance management, and a more stable financial environment was emphasized.

Minister Bošnjak and Governor Selimović assessed that continuous dialogue between institutions is important for improving systemic solutions that contribute to the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, financial stability, and better connectivity with European integration processes.
