Ministers Šabani and Pozder in Zavidovići: Meeting with the Mayor and Visit to Tajan

(Patria) - The Minister of Spatial Planning, Traffic and Communications, and Environmental Protection of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDC) Adnan Šabani held a working meeting today in Zavidovići with Mayor Erna Merdić Smailhodžić and Federal Minister Nasiha Pozder.

The discussion focused on the protection of natural areas, with a particular emphasis on the Tajan Nature Park, which operates within the newly formed cantonal public institution, as well as on addressing the problem of illegal landfills and improving road infrastructure in the city area.

Minister Šabani emphasized that protected areas and the preservation of natural resources, as well as addressing environmental challenges and infrastructure development, are priorities that require a joint and coordinated approach from all levels of government.

- Only through a partnership between cantonal, federal, and local institutions can we achieve concrete and sustainable solutions, especially when it comes to nature protection and improving the living conditions of citizens - said Minister Šabani.

Mayor Merdić Smailhodžić expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and Minister Šabani, emphasizing that such coordination is key to the realization of important projects in Zavidovići.

During the multi-hour visit to Zavidovići, the focus was on field visits to natural and touristically significant locations in the city area.

Ministers Šabani and Pozder, together with Mayor Merdić Smailhodžić, visited the protected area of the Tajan Nature Monument, one of the most valuable natural areas in ZDC, characterized by canyons, forest complexes, rich biodiversity, and speleological objects, representing a strong potential for the development of eco and adventure tourism.

Also visited was the Stone Ball location, a unique geological phenomenon that attracts an increasing number of visitors due to its rarity and specific shape, as well as the Forest Creek Golf Camp & Lodge Resort project, which combines tourist and sports-recreational facilities in this part of ZDC.
