(Patria) - At today's session of the BiH Council of Ministers, it was proposed that one of the agenda items be sending the 2023 Reform Program to NATO. However, ministers of Serb ethnicity refused such a proposal because they did not have time to read the materials, Istraga.ba has learned.
The proposal to include the Reform Program on the agenda was made by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Josip Brkić. An agreement was reached that this issue would be discussed at the next session of the Council of Ministers on December 19.
The BiH Minister of Defense, Zukan Helez, confirmed the information that it was discussed, that the Reform Program will be on the agenda of the next session of the Council of Ministers, and that, according to him, it will be adopted.
The Commission for Cooperation with NATO of Bosnia and Herzegovina had previously prepared a draft document "Reform Program of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2023".
Sending the Reform Program, or the Annual National Program (ANP), is an obligation of BiH on its path to NATO, i.e., within the Membership Action Plan (MAP), which represents a program of council, assistance, and practical support tailored to the individual needs of countries wishing to join the Alliance.
The Reform Program represents an annual report that BiH sends to NATO, an agreement on which was reached in the previous term of the BiH Council of Ministers. The Reform Program for 2023, which has been prepared for a longer period, has not yet been sent.
The last Reform Program was sent to NATO in 2022, for two years - 2021 and 2022.
