(Patria) - The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, submitted a request for international assistance in remedying the consequences of floods and landslides that hit several municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The request was submitted after the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a decision that, due to the scale of the floods, international assistance is needed in remedying the consequences, and provided a list of the most necessary equipment and resources.
The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in constant contact with representatives of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism in Brussels, and is working on preparations to ensure that the assistance sent to Bosnia and Herzegovina reaches the residents and municipalities that need it most at this moment as easily and quickly as possible.
The Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, stated that the Ministry will continue to monitor the situation on the ground and coordinate the provision of assistance to the areas affected by the floods.
