(Patria) - Following inquiries from media outlets regarding problems in the operation of the system for processing biometric data of foreign nationals, which is used in procedures for issuing visas and approving residence for foreigners in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina informs the public that a problem has been identified in the operation of the biometric data processing software.
The competent services of the Ministry of Security of BiH, in cooperation with international partners and the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina, are working intensively to resolve the identified problem in order to restore the system to full functionality as soon as possible.
"According to current estimates, it is expected that the difficulties will be resolved in the shortest possible time, after which the process of collecting and processing biometric data at the diplomatic-consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue without interruption. The Ministry of Security of BiH will timely inform the public of all relevant information and the continuation of the process of collecting and processing biometric data," the Ministry of Security of BiH announced.
