Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton changes ticket prices for public city transport

(Patria) - After the renewal of the GRAS company's fleet and the completion of the reconstruction of the railway line from Marindvor to Ilidža, the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton will change ticket prices in public city transport. With the new tariff policy, citizens will no longer have to pay 1.80 KM for a ticket and only ride two stops.

Then GRAS will have excellent working conditions and citizens will finally have the public transport they deserve. By establishing a new tariff system, we will enable citizens to have a contactless card that they can top up themselves and use with all transport operators – said Adnan Šteta, Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton.

According to his words, ticket prices will no longer cost the same whether you ride from Ilidža to Baščaršija or from Ilidža to Otoka.

Depending on the kilometers traveled, users will be charged for the service. That is the only fair solution. By the end of spring, we expect the signing of contracts for the reconstruction of the railway line from Marindvor to Ilidža, as well as for the procurement of new trams, with the first delivery expected by the end of next year – emphasized Šteta.
