
(Patria) - The Srebrenica Memorial Center today hosted the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, Maxime Prévot, as part of his official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The delegation was welcomed by the Director of the Memorial Center, Emir Suljagić, who, on this occasion, presented the work and mission of the institution, with a special focus on preserving the culture of remembrance, documenting facts, and educating about the genocide in Srebrenica.
During the visit, Minister Prévot toured the Genocide Museum, where he was acquainted with the permanent exhibition which, through archival material, testimonies of survivors, and personal stories, documents the events that preceded the genocide, the genocide itself, as well as its long-term consequences.
The visit was held in the spirit of emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in preserving the truth, strengthening the culture of remembrance, and supporting processes of confronting the past. It concluded with paying tribute to the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, following a meeting with representatives of women's associations from Srebrenica and Bratunac.
The Srebrenica Memorial Center expresses its gratitude to Minister Prévot for his visit and interest in the institution's work, as well as for the continuous support of international partners in preserving the memory of the genocide victims.
