Minister Sirovica: We should proudly remember our honorable struggle and our Maglaj Knight Brigade

(Patria) - Minister for Veterans' Affairs Adnan Sirovica attended the ceremonial marking of the 33rd anniversary of the formation of the Maglaj Brigade of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This heroic unit was formed on this day in 1992 and left an indelible mark on the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.



From a smaller military formation of the TO Staff, village companies, and detachments, the Maglaj Brigade grew into the 201st, or rather the 327th Brigade, which, thanks to the merits of Maglaj heroes, also received the honorary title "Knight".

From the first June bombardments, the September offensive, the liberation of Simanov grob hill, Pazarić, to the liberation operations of September 1995, beardless youths with inadequate weaponry bravely confronted the aggressor.

Around 4,400 soldiers passed through the brigade, 844 were seriously wounded, and 1,080 were lightly wounded, about 500 were killed, 18 members of the brigade went missing, and 12 members were awarded the "Golden Lily" recognition, which is just another proof of the immense sacrifice and bravery that sealed the freedom of our homeland with blood.



On this occasion, flowers were laid at the Central Memorial Monument in Lily Park.

- We should be proud and proudly remember all members of the brigade, because everything we did during the defense-liberation war testifies that this brigade has no stain on its path and none of us should be ashamed or hang our heads - said Minister Sirovica.
