Minister Sirovica at the commemoration of the anniversary of the Battle of Pazarić: A testament to the strength of unity and determination of our fighters

(Patria) - Organized by the Local Community of Liješnica, the anniversary of a significant historical date was solemnly commemorated - the Battle of Pazarić, one of the key liberation operations in the area of Maglaj municipality during the defense-liberation war of 1992-1995.

This battle, fought on January 21, 1994, remains inscribed as a symbol of the courage and determination of the members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.



In extremely difficult circumstances of a months-long blockade and lack of basic material and technical resources, but with strong morale and unwavering will, members of the 327th Knightly Mountain Brigade carried out a successful liberation operation that dealt a strong blow to the aggressor.

On that occasion, a significant amount of weapons and military equipment was captured, which created conditions for further combat activities and heralded the process of unblocking Maglaj and the wider area.



A delegation from the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK), led by Minister Adnan Sirovica, families of martyrs and fallen fighters, disabled war veterans, former members of the Army of RBiH, as well as representatives of socio-political life, attended the commemoration of the anniversary, paying tribute to those who gave their lives for freedom.

Sirovica emphasized on this occasion that it is the duty of institutions to permanently nurture a culture of remembrance and respect for the heroes of the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- The Battle of Pazarić is a testament to the strength of unity and determination of our fighters, who in the most difficult moments showed how to defend dignity, freedom, and the homeland.



It is our lasting obligation to preserve the memory of these historical victories, but also to show respect to the fighters and their families through institutional care and support - Sirovica said.

The Ministry for Veterans' Affairs of ZDK will continue to support the commemoration of significant dates from the defense-liberation war, with the aim of preserving the truth, strengthening the culture of memory, and passing on historical facts to future generations.
