Newly appointed Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry in the FBiH Government Reuf Bajrović chose Aluminij d.d. Mostar for his first official visit and, in the administrative building of the Mostar factory, met with members of the Management, led by director Nikica Ljubić, writes the Patria news agency.
During the working meeting, the minister was informed about the situation at Aluminij, the company's four-year business plan, as well as the most important items from the current issues, with a special emphasis on the reprogramming of Aluminij's debt to Elektroprivreda HZHB, the necessity of unblocking the factory accounts, and taking the first steps regarding compensation for former employees. He also got acquainted with the managerial statuses of the members of the Company's Management, who were appointed to the top factory positions for a mandate period until June 3, 2018.
Emphasizing the importance of Aluminij's survival and good business for the entire Federation of BiH, the minister stated that he will work on depoliticizing public companies, as well as all economic entities in which the FBiH Government has an ownership stake.
- Depoliticization of management bodies in these companies is the path to their successful business, and this composition of Aluminij's Management will have my trust as long as it operates within legal frameworks and in the interest of both its 850 employees and this entity, whose government sees significant economic interest and potential in Aluminij, and therefore does not doubt its recovery or its successful future – said Minister Bajrović.
