Minister Ostojić addressed the refugees: Selam alejkum, my name is Ranko

By 6 a.m. this morning, slightly fewer than 29,000 refugees had entered the Republic of Croatia. Transport to the border is still being organised, while around 1,500 refugees are in the temporary reception centre in Opatovac, the Ministry of the Interior reported, as carried by the Patria news agency.

From 11:30 p.m. last night at the Bajakovo border crossing, until the situation stabilises at the Bregana-Obrežje border crossing, traffic for freight vehicles entering Croatia has been suspended, while the exit from the Republic of Croatia has a queue approximately 3 km long.

Around noon today, Interior Minister Ranko Ostojić addressed the refugees. He entered every bus that arrived in Opatovac and greeted the people.

He explained to them where they are and that they will stay there for a short time while their transport to the border is organised. The largest influx of refugees is still expected in the Tovarnik area, Index reports.

In the video we are publishing, a segment is cut out in which Minister Ostojić can be heard greeting the refugees with "selam alejkum". That part can be heard in the video published on the page http://www.hrt.hr/
