Minister Lakić threatened: Horvat harms the company's reputation, will be held accountable in court

(Patria) - In response to statements made public by Akos Horvat, the relevant minister Vedran Lakić commented.

"Akos Horvat is a read book. His manipulative statements appear very often and damage the reputation of companies in the defense industry. I sincerely hope that is not his main goal. Due to the presentation of untrue facts, I will personally file a lawsuit against him for defamation, and given that he has been usurping the work of our companies for a long time and causing great confusion by presenting untrue allegations, thereby clearly damaging their reputation, the aforementioned legal entities will also file a lawsuit against him.

He once advocated for the dismissal of the management of Binas Bugojno, while now he strongly defends it. What is hidden behind such behavior, I wonder? The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not and will not be a space where individual investors determine management structures or business rules. Every investment is welcome – but exclusively in compliance with the law, procedures, and strategic interests of the state. Allegations of "blockades" are actually an attempt to present the non-fulfillment of certain demands as a systemic problem.

Furthermore, it is unacceptable and extremely irresponsible to publicly make qualifications about the work of management and institutions without facts, especially in a sector of strategic and security importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is inadmissible to try to discredit the entire sector and the people working in it through the media, at a time when this industry has a historic opportunity for development and strengthening. The defense industry is not anyone's private project – it is the pillar of the state's security and development.

I state clearly: the defense industry is not and will not be a playground for experiments, pressures, or takeovers under any circumstances that are not transparent and legal. At the same time, I emphasize clearly: the presentation of untruths, manipulation, and personal disqualifications will not go unanswered. Every attempt to deliberately mislead the public and damage the reputation of institutions and companies in
the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will entail appropriate legal consequences. We will not allow the success of the domestic industry to be destroyed by statements from those who clearly do not understand the system or are trying to adapt it to themselves.

Our focus remains the same – strengthening the domestic industry, protecting jobs, and creating space for serious, transparent, and legal investments," Lakić's reaction states.
