Minister Hasanović did not approve the appointment of Hasić as head of Sarajevo Pharmacy, an appeal has been filed, will the Management Board be dismissed?

(Patria) - The Minister of Health of Sarajevo Canton, Enis Hasanović (SDP BiH), despite pressure from various political and interest circles, did not give his consent to the Management Board of the Public Institution Pharmacy Sarajevo for the appointment of the institution's director, Zenaida Hasić, for a new four-year term.

The Management Board appointed the acting director, Lejla Hodžić, and it is not yet known whether the previous competition will be annulled or if the Management Board will submit the name of the next candidate from the ranking list. Lejla Hodžić, an employee of the Public Institution Pharmacy Sarajevo, is also on the ranking list.

As Patria has learned, Hasić could not come to terms with Minister Hasanović's decision and filed an appeal through her lawyer.

We remind you that the Management Board of the Public Institution Pharmacy Sarajevo did not act on Minister Hasanović's earlier request to dismiss Hasić from the position of director in accordance with the Statute, after the KS Assembly rejected the Report on Work and Financial Operations for 2024 at the end of January this year. Hasić was appointed head of Sarajevo Pharmacy in 2021, as a joint candidate of SDP and NIP. She is close to the president of SDP, Nermin Nikšić, as well as to certain officials of Narod i Pravda. She also regularly attends their party rallies. Furthermore, the KS Prosecutor's Office has received several reports related to employment during Hasić's term, and reports were also filed by KS Assembly representatives to the KS Office for the Prevention of Corruption regarding possible conflicts of interest.

Vesna Pirija from the HJPC chairs the Management Board of Pharmacy Sarajevo, and instead of dismissal or acceptance of the (fictitious) resignation submitted by Hasić, the now former director was given the opportunity to apply for the competition. Three out of five members of the Management Board voted for the appointment of Hasić.

The Pharmacy Trade Union also followed the entire procedure and on March 17 warned the relevant minister that the Management Board had not acted in accordance with the Statute and had not dismissed the director within 30 days of the report not being adopted. After the documentation was received from the Management Board, Hasanović refused to give consent for the appointment.

The Management Board of Pharmacy Sarajevo includes Vesna Pirija as president, who received consent from the President of the HJPC to perform additional activities, Una Suljić, Alma Kazazić, Ada Huskić (mother of a judge of the Court of BiH), and Alfonz Filipović, who was previously on the Management Board of Pharmacy Sarajevo. Three members voted for the appointment of Hasić, while Suljić and Filipović voted against.

It will be known very soon whether the members of the Management Board of Pharmacy Sarajevo, who ignored the demands of the relevant minister, will be dismissed after all.
