Minister Adnan Šabani: We are repairing and modernizing three kilometers of the Zenica – Lašva road

(Patria) - The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Traffic and Communications and Environmental Protection of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Cantonal Directorate of Roads of ZDK are currently working or have public calls underway for the renewal and development of road infrastructure in almost all 12 cities and municipalities.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Traffic and Communications and Environmental Protection of ZDK announced public calls for the execution of works on the reconstruction of two sections of the regional road R445 Zenica – Lašva. The subject of the tender is the repair of the aforementioned road from the Drivuša roundabout to the company “Almy Metalno”. The estimated value of the repair works on approximately 1,000 meters of road is 572,649.57 KM. The second public call also refers to the repair of the Zenica – Lašva road, from the bridge over the Lašva river towards the settlement, for a length of 750 meters, for which 153,846.15 KM has been allocated in the ZDK budget.

-Considering that works are underway on the 1.25-kilometer-long first suburban section of the Main City Highway, precisely on the Zenica – Lašva road, it is clear that with new projects, this important traffic route for the economic development and the population of this part of Zenica will undergo true modernization - states Adnan Šabani, the relevant cantonal minister.

By the end of 2025, more than 20 major projects on the regional road infrastructure are planned, as well as numerous projects in local communities where the aim is to improve the development of tourist potentials, especially in Smetovi, Ponijeri, Kamenica, and Mount Zvijezda.

-Yesterday, we visited a large construction site on the regional road Visoko – Kiseljak at the junction with the regional road Kakanj – Visoko. More than a million KM has been allocated for the regional road Zenica – Arnauti – Kakanj, which includes the reconstruction of the road between two quarries. In Piljužići near Tešanj, we will build a sidewalk along the R474 road and its repair.

The regional road Novi Šeher – Kopice – FBiH border will get a new look, and we will also build two kilometers of the regional road Novi Šeher – Tešanj – Jelah – Federation of BiH border. The repair of the Zenica – Nemila and Nemila – Bistričak – FBiH border roads will be carried out soon. We will build roads in the areas of Breza, Vareš, Zavidovići..., and in the area of Zenica, the regional road R413a Čajdraš – Ovnak – Canton border near the settlement of Obrenovci is being repaired, as well as at the Pojske locality. Given that citizens often complain to us about bad roads in certain urban areas, I must emphasize that the relevant ministry I lead, which has the full support of the Prime Minister and the Government of ZDK, and especially some deputies in the ZDK Assembly led by Mr. Alen Kapković, is exclusively responsible for regional roads - says Adnan Šabani, Minister of Spatial Planning, Traffic and Communications and Environmental Protection of ZDK.

According to the Plan for Protection, Maintenance, Reconstruction and Construction of Regional Roads for 2025, adopted by the Government of ZDK, a record 24,664,000 KM has been allocated for the improvement of regional roads in the canton in 2025.
