Milićević: Violation of self-isolation to be treated through the Criminal Code of FBiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Federal Civil Protection Headquarters has issued a recommendation regarding sanctions for people violating isolation and self-isolation measures. We recommend that police and cantonal inspectorates, in addition to misdemeanor measures, use the provisions of the Criminal Code of FBiH on criminal liability against health and obstruction of an official in the performance of duty, when checking violations of isolation measures, said the commander of the FBiH Civil Protection Crisis Headquarters at today's session.

She added that we are facing the same problem as other countries because people are violating self-isolation and endangering their own and others' health, and it is recommended to publish the names of these individuals.

"It is recommended that all Civil Protection Headquarters consider the possibility of finding premises for those who will be punished under the Criminal Code of FBiH and who obstruct officials," stated Milićević.

Regarding the epidemiological situation as of 10 AM on March 25, she said: "Two larger clusters are related to the event in Konjic, with 22 confirmed cases and three generational contacts recorded, and in the case of Mostar, six positive cases. In USK, three clusters and three deaths have been registered. In FBiH, 464 people have been tested, with 4 new cases, a total of 52 cases, and 3 deaths."

When asked where people who do not respect isolation measures will be accommodated, she stated that an order has already been issued to find such premises.

"The premises must be in compliance with the rules on distancing and other measures to avoid new clusters," Milićević answered.

When asked about pensioners and how they can collect their pensions and fulfill their needs, Milićević said that the Red Cross is organizing a network of volunteers to help the elderly, who are a risk group, and that a representative of the Red Cross will attend a meeting tonight to determine further steps.
