Mijatović to Dačić: You are continuing Milošević's policies, which I, as a Serb, am ashamed of

(Patria) - Vojin Mijatović, Vice-President of the Main Board of SDP, sent an open letter to Ivica Dačić, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia. We are publishing the letter in its entirety.

Dear Sir,

Mr. Dačić, first of all, I welcome you to Bosnia and Herzegovina, a land of good people, a land of honest people, a land that wishes well to all its neighbors as well as to all other countries in the entire world.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a sovereign state composed of two Entities and the Brčko District. Bosnia and Herzegovina, as such, conducts a sovereign foreign policy and will remain so forever.

I am Vojin Mijatović, a Serb and a Bosnian from Banja Luka, born here, and I do not plan to leave my country, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mr. Dačić, your statements, which are at best unserious and incorrect, personally offend me, as well as every normal person living in this country.

You come as a welcome guest and neighbor, but that does not give you the right to insult us, to cause unrest in our country, and to transfer Serbia's political problems, which it unfortunately faces, to our country. Mr. Dačić, I am fully aware of the problems Serbia faces regarding the status of Kosovo, and I am sure that everyone from Bosnia and Herzegovina would do everything to help resolve it as painlessly and quickly as possible, but that is a burden that Serbia realistically faces and must resolve on its own.

You, Mr. Dačić, are an experienced politician, and instead of singing Miljacka around the world, and doing it very poorly, do something for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Do something for the final reconciliation in this country.
Mr. Dačić, your obligation is much greater compared to other politicians from Serbia, because you were one of Slobodan Milošević's closest associates, who did many catastrophic things to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I am publicly asking you now, what did you do to prevent some of those things in the 90s? NOTHING, Mr. Dačić.

Because of your policies, tens of thousands of Bosniaks and Croats lost their lives simply because they were not Serbs, and far fewer Serbs who fought while your criminal exponents were smuggling oil, cigarettes, flour... and enriching themselves on people's lives.

Instead of coming to Bosnia and Herzegovina as a friend, to visit the places of suffering of all three peoples, to pay respects to the victims, you come as a cheap bully and spread unrest.

SHAME ON YOU, Mr. Dačić.

To make things clear and so you have no doubts, I am a Serb but also a Bosnian. I love and respect Serbia and the Serbian people, but I also love my country Bosnia and Herzegovina and every person from the Adriatic to the Sava, from the Drina to the Una.

This is my country, I have no backup. My late mother is buried in Belgrade, and a part of me is certainly there, but all my other ancestors are buried in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I never, ever plan to leave my ancestral land, my homeland, because my soul is here in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mr. Dačić, many good things are happening in Serbia, and I believe that Mr. Vučić is solely responsible for that.
I disagree with many of his positions, but I respect what he is doing for the Republic of Serbia. You, Mr. Dačić, are just a Chinese pendant that I don't know why Mr. Vučić carries.

You represent the continuation of a catastrophic policy of Slobodan Milošević, which I, as a Serb, am ashamed of.

You, Mr. Dodik, and similar political destructors are only a factor of unrest and destabilization in our countries and the region.
I am convinced that Mr. Vučić is aware of this and that you will very soon find yourselves where you both belong, your politics in our countries and the region.

Finally, since you are a bad politician and a bad singer, try to be at least a better person and do not bring more unrest to Bosnia and Herzegovina or the Republic of Serbia.

Sincerely,

Vojin Mijatović
