The event was opened with a welcome speech by the first vice-president of NS/FS BIH, Milorad Sofrenić.

The best player of the BH Telecom Premier League of BiH for the 2018/19 season is Sarajevo's striker Mersudin Ahmetović. Coaches and captains of the clubs in our elite football competition gave the most votes to Ahmetović, who surpassed Miloš Filipović from Zrinjski and Dražen Bagarić from Široki Brijeg.

Ahmetović did not attend tonight's event, so the award was accepted on his behalf by Sarajevo's sports director Emir Hadžić from Milorad Sofrenić.

Mersudin Ahmetović is the fifth player to receive this award, and before him, the awards for the best footballer of the BiH championship were won by Wagner Santos Lago, Zajko Zeba, Miroslav Stevanović, and Goran Zakarić.

The best goalkeeper of the Premier League is Vladan Kovačević from Sarajevo. Kovačević's closest competitors were Luka Bilobrk (Široki Brijeg) and Ivan Brkić (Zrinjski).

A special recognition was awarded to referee Amer Macić from Mostar, who, with a calm reaction during the BHT PL Tuzla City Sarajevo match, saved the life of the home team's defender Dino Bevab, who lost consciousness after a collision with an opposing player. The award was presented to him by the second vice-president of the NS/FS BIH Committee for Referees and Refereeing, Ibrahim Hasanbegović.

BH Telecom representative Kemal Avdagić presented the fair-play award to FK Krupa.
