German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande visited the crash site of the Germanwings plane today, which crashed yesterday, killing more than 150 passengers and crew members, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy also came to the crash site. Merkel and Hollande flew over the crash site by helicopter.
Hollande said at a press conference today that a terrible catastrophe had occurred, but that they would do everything to find and identify the victims so that their families could bury them.
- The families of the victims will be supported.
Merkel said that everything possible was being done to try to understand the cause of the accident, no matter how long it took.
Prime Minister Rajoy thanked all the volunteers for their help and the French people.
The work of investigators on the ground is hampered by the inaccessibility of the plane crash site. It was determined that the plane was last seen on radar at 1,828 meters.
