Srebrenica Memorial Center with 75 organizations marks July 11 in 30 countries worldwide

(Patria) - The Srebrenica Memorial Center is directly supporting and coordinating the Day of Remembrance of the Genocide against Bosniaks of Srebrenica this year in cooperation with 75 organizations worldwide that gather the Bosnian diaspora and friendly communities. This activity is the result of an open call realized at the beginning of this year, financially supported by the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees, with the patronage and engagement of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"There are 75 registered organizations that have passed checks and all processes of familiarization with the activities. They will be provided with prepared video materials, recorded addresses, written materials for brochures and publications, photographs, design solution samples for posters, invitations, and message suggestions for social networks. This way, we have taken a step further in the global and joint commemoration of July 11. This is not just about our diaspora, but about friendly communities, museums, and partner memorials around the world. There is no continent without a partner. Also, I want to say that these are not the only places where the genocide in Srebrenica will be commemorated, but directly the organizations that applied to the call and expressed their interest in our support. Thank you to them for that. Thanks also to all others who will stand with the victims of genocide this July 11," said the Director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center, Emir Suljagić.

Each of the registered groups has shown high motivation and a desire to honor the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica through local events, exhibitions, forums, and online campaigns, and to ensure a truthful and well-founded historical perspective for future generations. The Memorial Center is particularly pleased that organizations from distant regions, such as Asia (New Delhi, Islamabad), Oceania (Melbourne, Sydney), and South America (Santiago de Chile), have joined the initiative, which confirms global solidarity and shared responsibility.

The Memorial Center has provided all registered partners with a wide range of materials and support: high-quality video recordings and photographs from the archive, as well as prepared narratives. This comprehensive material has enabled the diaspora to professionally and coordinatedly, with full logistical and technical support, carry out local activities according to a unified global platform.

"In addition to all of that, the team of the Memorial Center continuously provides advice and consultations on organizing events – from expert forums and documentary screenings to art exhibitions and memorial marches. Thanks to this coordination, local partners have the opportunity to plan and implement activities in accordance with the central message, which will culminate on July 11, 2025. In this way, the common message 'Our Story, Our Promise' goes to all continents," Suljagić added.

Through this initiative, the Srebrenica Memorial Center strives to ensure that every community, regardless of its geographical location, joins the global fight against genocide denial. We thank all partners for their cooperation so far and confirm that, with the common message 'Our Story, Our Promise,' our collective effort will strengthen the culture of remembrance and truth.
