International Week of the Deaf: Musical Performance Without Sound

The last week of September is marked as International Week of the Deaf, and today in Zenica, the Institute for Public Health of ZDC, in cooperation with the Secondary Music School Zenica, the Elementary Music School Zenica and the Elementary Music School „Katarina Kotromanić-Kosača“ Žepče, organized an interesting performance in which they "played" for 10 minutes but there was no sound, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Selma Kaknjo from the Institute for Public Health of ZDC said that the students played their instruments but did not produce music.

- They did this to show just a fraction of what it is actually like for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. These people live in silence and in this way we draw attention to their problem - said Kaknjo.

The motto of today's performance is "Listening to us they do not hear, because a picture without sound is their everyday life."

In addition to Zenica, the performance was held at the same time in Žepče.
