McLaren unveils car for new Formula 1 season

(Patria) - The McLaren team today unveiled the new MCL38 car in Silverstone, which they will compete with in the upcoming Formula 1 season.

The car that McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will drive this season is orange and black, like last year's.

- The team is excited to present the MCL38 today and to see it on track for the first time - said McLaren boss Andrea Stella, Sky reports.

McLaren had a poor start to the season last year, but improved the car's performance and results in the second half, and was a consistent challenger to Red Bull in several races, which dominantly won the constructors' and drivers' titles.

- Entering this year, we want to continue the success from last season, but we know that every team will progress and find competitiveness for their cars for the new season - Stella stated.

McLaren finished in fourth place in the constructors' championship last year.

- We now have everything in place from the perspective of infrastructure, people, and culture, so we continue to move forward and build further success on the work already done to get back to the top - added the McLaren boss.

Pre-season testing will take place from February 21 to 23 in Bahrain, and the new season begins on March 2 with the Bahrain Grand Prix.
