Slavko Mršević from Rudo Graduated

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Slavko Mršević, a young man with the mildest form of autism, who was not allowed to continue his secondary education by the system and institutions, has graduated in Rudo.

Mršević walked through the town with his friends and celebrated the completion of his secondary education.

Slavko has Asperger's syndrome, the mildest form of autism, and was expelled on September 1, 2016, from the Secondary Traffic School in Rudo because the school refused to adapt the curriculum and teaching methods to his functional abilities and status.

He was enrolled in school in 2015, but his grades were not finalized after the first semester. He finished the second semester with no grades and therefore could not continue his education.

His father, Nenad Mršević, informed all relevant institutions about this case and filed a lawsuit on ten counts for violating the law on secondary education and denying the boy the right to education.

After significant public pressure, Slavko was returned to school and managed to graduate.
