Costume party in Štrosmajerova Street kicks off Children's Days

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In the heart of the Old Town, in Štrosmajerova Street, numerous children enjoyed a costume party, face painting, balloons, mascots, and games, marking the beginning of the multi-day program "Children's Days" organized by the Municipality of Stari Grad.

The program in Štrosmajerova Street was open to all children, but the majority were first-graders from the Old Town, who celebrated the last day of this school year, or the "fun class," with a grand costume party. First-grader Nedim Mimani dressed up as a policeman: "I have a great desire to become a policeman when I grow up, and that's why I chose this costume, I really like the mascots too," Nedim told us.

Little girl Lejla Kulibašić in a witch costume: "My mom helped me make this costume, I really like how I look and I'm not that scary," Lejla said with a laugh. First-graders from all six elementary schools in the Stari Grad area attended the costume party, and teacher Alisa Mujan from Elementary School "Šejh Muhamed ef. Hadžijamaković" from Hrid brought two classes: "The children are really having a wonderful time, and many thanks to the Municipality of Stari Grad for this 'fun class' on behalf of all of us," were the words of teacher Alisa.

A cheerful procession led by mascots Minnie, Mickey Mouse, Spiderman, and Hulk paraded in a fun circle through Zelenih beretki, Zlatarska, Ferhadija streets, and returned to Štrosmajerova, attracting the attention of many passers-by, as well as foreign tourists. The "Children's Days" program is organized by the Service for Education, Culture, and Sport of the Municipality of Stari Grad on the occasion of the end of the school year as well as the International Children's Day, which is celebrated this month, and will last until June 20.
