Margin on prices of most important products remains at March 5 level

(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of BiH, at today's session in Sarajevo, adopted a Decision establishing the conditions for prescribing immediate price control measures in the Federation of BiH. As an immediate price control measure, the Government prescribed the determination of trade margins (calculated prices) for certain products. Immediate control measures apply to products under the jurisdiction of the FBiH, cantons, cities, and municipalities prescribed by the provisions of the Law on Price Control, as well as to other foodstuffs, basic hygiene and other products sold by all participants in the supply chain, i.e., business companies and other legal and natural persons engaged in wholesale and retail trade.

Legal and natural persons are obliged to determine and apply margins so that they do not exceed the level of margins for these products as of March 5, 2020.

This applies to all types of flour, all types of bread, pastries and other bakery products made from flour and grains, active yeast, milk and dairy products, eggs and egg products, sugar, tea, spices, salt for human consumption, rice, pasta, vegetable and animal fats, all types of fresh meat, fish and their products, fruits and vegetables, vinegar, canned meat, canned fish, drinking water, edible oil, infant formulas and follow-on formulas, cereal-based processed foods and baby food for infants and young children, food supplements, dietetic products (including gluten-free products), foods for special medical purposes, disposable diapers for children and adults, sanitary pads, laundry and dish detergents. Also, soap, disinfectants for water, spaces and hands (including concentrated alcohol), toilet paper, toothpaste, protective suits and other protective and medical clothing and footwear, protective goggles and visors, protective gloves and protective shoe covers, protective masks - surgical, FFP2 and FFP3 face masks, bedding and other linen for the health system, all types of seeds and planting material, plant health protection products, animal feed and feed components, and artificial fertilizers.

The federal, cantonal, city and municipal market inspectorates are responsible for the implementation and supervision of this decision.

Upon the entry into force of this decision, the previous Decision on prescribing immediate price control measures shall cease to be valid. Otherwise, the Prime Minister of the FBiH and his two deputies attended today's session of the BiH Government, while other members of the Federal Government participated in the session via video link.
