Marketa Vondrousova wins Wimbledon

(Patria) - History has been written. Marketa Vondroušova has enchanted the tennis world and won Wimbledon.

The Czech reached the feat as the 42nd player in the world, and in the final she defeated Ons Jabeur of Tunisia 2:0 (6:4, 6:4).

The success is greater considering that Vondroušova had only one win in her previous four Wimbledon appearances. Now she has strung together seven victories and reached her first Grand Slam title in her career.

The Czech became the first tennis player in Wimbledon history to win the title without being a seeded player (she is currently the 42nd tennis player in the world, and there are only 32 seeded spots).
