Bosnia and Herzegovina Homeless Futsal Team Takes 7th Place at Homeless World Cup

At the Homeless World Cup in Oslo, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Homeless Futsal Team defeated Ireland (7:4) to take 7th place out of 48 teams.

This result is a testament to the good play and dedication of our players, as well as the support they received from BH Fanaticos in Norway.

- In sporting terms, our boys were just a little short of competing for one of the top three places. However, when it comes to the real goal of this project and this team, we can rightly say that it has been achieved. We have spoken and written about it, and those who follow us know the positive side of it all, and appreciate our work as well as the boys' efforts to better promote the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, their own personal affirmation, and all the positive things our people carry with them - said team selector Elmedin Škrebo.

We thank everyone who helps and supports this project in any way, especially those who made our boys' stay in Oslo even more beautiful and unforgettable. Since 2012, when MFS-EMMAUS sent the first BiH team to the World Cup in Mexico, the city of Doboj and its mayor Obren Petrović have helped this project every year, and it was the same on the way to Oslo.

In the same way, the municipality of Gračanica, led by Mayor Nusret Helić, has been continuously supporting the project since 2014. MFS-EMMAUS ambassador and BiH national team player Muhamed Bešić has been with us since 2013, and for this year's championship in Oslo, he paid for the plane tickets for our team. There is also the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which this year provided a set of white jerseys for our national team players, and the Football Association of Tuzla Canton.

Other partners and supporters of MFS-EMMAUS in this project were OAZA from Tešanj, the company CIBOS d.o.o., the municipality of Doboj Istok, the company Eurovez Tešanj, and Central osiguranje Doboj Istok.

Congratulations to our national team players on their excellent energy and victories.
