Malkočević: We entered the match with fear and gifted goals to the Austrians

After the end of the first round match of Group B of the European Championship in Azerbaijan, BiH-Austria 0:2, coach Sakib Malkočević stated that we entered the match a little scared, which the Austrians exploited, applied pressure, and scored two goals very quickly.

- After that, it was difficult to get back into the match. We practically gifted them the goals, but that does not diminish Austria's victory. We played better in the second half, but the opponent was better, faster, and more prepared, and we congratulate them on the victory - says coach Malkočević.

He added that the team will now focus on the match with Germany.

- We will try to recover in the next two days because Germany, an even tougher opponent, awaits us. Today we were not at the level we were in the Elite Round of qualifications, we did not adapt well, and Austria deservedly won - added Malkočević.

The left-back of our national team, Amar Beširević, is also disappointed with the result.

- Unfortunately, we were defeated in the first match of the European Championship. We did not enter the game as we wanted. In the second period, we improved our play a bit, created several chances, and it's a shame we didn't use them - says Beširević.
