Malić: I expect the plenums to propose a candidate for prime minister

The Chairwoman of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, Mirjana Malić (SDP), told the Patria news agency that she has not yet received any proposal for a candidate for the Prime Minister of the KS Government, adding that "SDP will certainly not propose a candidate for prime minister".

- I see no reason for that. And I do not expect the parties to propose a candidate for prime minister, I expect the parties to support what the plenums will propose - Malić stated.

At yesterday's press conference after the session of the Presidency of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), Šefik Džaferović, the vice-president of this party, confirmed that this party will not propose a candidate for prime minister in Sarajevo Canton, nor in the other three governments (Zenica-Doboj Canton, Una-Sana and Tuzla Canton). A few days ago, for Patria, the head of the SDA caucus in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, Elmedin Konaković, said that "there is no need for them to propose the name of the new prime minister when the citizens have said what they think".

Parties that do not form the executive government in Sarajevo Canton are distancing themselves and stating that they will not propose a candidate for prime minister. This was confirmed for the BiH news agency Patria by the representative of the Alliance for Better Future (SBB), Kenan Ademović.

- SDA, SDP and SBiH should propose a candidate for prime minister. As for SBB, we will not come up with any candidate for prime minister, nor will we form the executive government in KS. The proposed candidate for prime minister will receive 18 votes, and we will support everything he does well - Ademović said.
