Mothers of children treated at the Pediatric Clinic receive beds

The rebalance of the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton for this year has been increased by 37 million KM, and the Budget now totals 812 million KM. In an urgent procedure, the deputies of the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton also adopted the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Execution of the Budget for 2017, reports the Patria agency.

Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton Elmedin Konaković stated that these funds have been allocated to numerous and very significant capital projects. About 10 million KM has been set aside for the companies "Vodovod i kanalizacija" for the procurement of equipment in order to finally accelerate the resolution of the water supply problem in the Sarajevo Canton. Funds have also been secured for the retirement of Gras employees, the procurement of new vans, the reconstruction of tram stops, and the subsidization of losses. The Budget of the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton has also been increased to procure 120 new vehicles.

- The Budget of the Ministry of Health has been tripled by the Rebalance and amounts to 7.8 million KM. It is planned to purchase new equipment for health centers and hospitals, which has not been renewed for 15 to 20 years. This would also significantly reduce waiting lists for certain examinations. Part of the funds will be directed to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo for co-financing the procurement of devices, i.e., a linear accelerator used for diagnosing malignant diseases, and part of the funds to the General Hospital 'Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš' for the procurement of a CT scanner and a gamma camera that is more than 20 years old and no longer functional - stated Prime Minister Konaković.

An amount of 100,000 KM has also been allocated for the procurement of beds for mothers accompanying children being treated at the Pediatric Clinic.

Significant funds will be spent on the construction of the building of the Academy of Performing Arts, as well as the construction of new elementary schools in Šip and Aneks, and two gymnasiums in Dobroševići and Blažuj. He also added that the child allowance will be increased by 30 percent, which is currently received by 13,000 beneficiaries.

- We continue the fight with the implementation of the Waste Management Plan, we have increased earmarked funds by 700,000 KM, and for subsidizing gas connections to the existing infrastructure, we have allocated 500,000 KM to reduce pollution in Sarajevo - emphasized Prime Minister Konaković.

For the purchase of a dog shelter, 1.2 million KM has been allocated, and 300,000 KM for the construction of a crematorium at the Vlakovo cemetery.
