(Patria) - "Thank you Hungary!", wrote Péter Magyar, Tisza's candidate for prime minister, on Facebook in response to the results received so far.
And soon after, current Prime Minister Viktor Orban congratulated Magyar on his election victory, which is becoming increasingly visible as election results come in.
Péter Ovadi, Fidesz representative from Veszprém, congratulated his opponent on the victory long before the final vote count.
"I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the past eight years, the moments we have experienced, the work we have done together, and the dreams we have achieved. Every day I have served the people here to the best of my ability, with sincere faith and dedication. I respectfully congratulate Dr. Levente Gáspár, Member of Parliament, on his achieved results and wish you successful service! God bless Veszprém and its region!", the politician announced on his Facebook page.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán addressed the Fidesz election night and admitted defeat in the elections.
He said that "the result is clear" and that he had already congratulated the winning party. He also added that the election outcome is painful for Fidesz.
