Magacin Kabare prepares new play - Overqualified

Starting this Thursday (February 4), Magacin Kabare will once again provide plenty of laughter and entertainment for the Sarajevo audience. The first play after the break, titled "Overqualified", will be performed by actress Sanela Krsmanović, who plays Rabija Šuvalić, an overqualified former counter clerk in search of a new job, reports the Patria News Agency.

After losing her job, Ms. Rabija, a native of Sarajevo, applied for all available positions but without success, as she is mostly overqualified. However, leaving a job that required "stamping" and "licking stamps" helped Rabija discover numerous talents she didn't have time for. But she has to make a living somehow, so Ms. Šuvalić continues to look for a job. Her next job interview is on Thursday, 04.02.2016, at Caffe Club Gogo.

Admission is 10 KM and the show starts at 9:00 PM with mandatory reservations.

This play is actually a sequel to the most performed and popular cabarets "Šalter 22" and "Majka nacije" and part of the POSAO BIH project, through which Magacin Kabere, with the support of the Foundation for Stage, Music and Visual Arts, presents the first in a series of cabaret performances. Within this project, artists from various fields will explore the problem of unemployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina through different artistic forms.

With the play "Overqualified" as well as the new play by actress Aida Bukva, Magacin Kabare will enrich Sarajevo's theatre scene with Comedy Theatre for the next two months.

In its five years of existence, Magacin Kabare has positioned itself as an innovative theatre group of authors dealing with changes, both in the perception of social issues and in the standards of approaching the realization of contemporary cultural products. With its new programs, projects, and professional approach to work, MAGACIN KABARE will continuously work on repositioning independent Bosnian theatre. At the same time, Mali Magacin Kabare is launching new workshops and projects, providing an opportunity for children aged 6 to 14 and young people aged 14 to 18 to develop and improve their talents in acting, singing, and film with excellent educators.
