Thieves are rampant in Sarajevo again, cheaper cars are targeted

Thieves stole two Golf 2 cars in front of GRAS in Sarajevo, and on Wednesday evening in the Rosulje settlement in Vogosca they tried to steal a Golf 3 car, but were prevented by the car's security system, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Although in recent years car thieves in Sarajevo streets were mostly targeting more expensive cars, cheaper vehicles are now targeted again, which thieves sell for parts or scrap metal.

Experts recommend that car owners must install anti-theft protection and leave their vehicles in visible locations.

Car thefts in Sarajevo are on the rise according to police reports. In 2014, 825 vehicles were stolen in the canton, which is 3.1% more than the previous year. Police managed to find and return only 222 vehicles, writes NAP.
