Thieves posing as "craftsmen" rob elderly residents of Aerodromsko Naselje

Fear has gripped the elderly residents of Aerodromsko Naselje in Sarajevo due to a man who falsely presents himself as an employee of a Sarajevo company, robbing them in this manner, writes the BH news agency Patria.

A few days ago, an elderly woman was targeted by a thief, and she opened her apartment door to him after he introduced himself as a craftsman.

- He told me he worked for a cable operator and asked me to show him where my nearest outlet was. When I showed him, he asked if I wanted a lower electricity bill. He asked for any piece of gold jewelry. He unscrewed the outlet and supposedly put gold inside. I didn't see what he did and I don't understand it. When I told another craftsman who came a few days later, he opened the outlet and the ring I gave him was gone. I am old and don't see well, but now I'm afraid to open the door to anyone – says this elderly woman.

She says she didn't even dare to tell her son, who is an inspector, what happened. On the other hand, there is a possibility that thieves monitor who lives alone and exploit such situations for various misdeeds.
