Members of the Association of Logor Prisoners from Žepče will remember on March 31 the horrors they endured during the conflict between the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Croatian Defence Council in 1993, when around 5,000 Bosniaks were imprisoned in camps, and nearly a hundred were killed, reports the Patria news agency.
The logor prisoners will gather in front of the Association's premises at 12:30, after which they will visit the Šehidsko mezarje Gornja Mahala cemetery and the Memorial Room, and then they will walk through the town, where they will throw flowers into the Bosna River from the bridge as a sign of remembrance for those killed in the camps.
During the Bosniak-Croat conflict, several camps were established in Žepče, mainly for Bosniak civilians.
