Ligata: Džeko has a medial collateral ligament injury in his knee, awaiting MRI

After yesterday's defeat of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team against Spain (3:1), passions were stirred, not so much because of the loss, as social media is buzzing about Edin Džeko's exit from the game in the 20th minute, and the red card for Emir Spahić, writes Patria.

Speculations began that Džeko was not injured, which was denied today by Jasmin Ligata, spokesperson for Edin Džeko, the Bosnian captain.

- Edin Džeko suffered an injury to the medial collateral ligament of his knee in the match against Spain, due to which he already missed almost a month this season. Namely, Edin received a blow to his right leg, similar to the one he received this season in the match between Roma and Carpi in Serie A, and he is facing a break. Tomorrow, or by the end of the week at the latest, he will undergo an MRI to determine the exact degree of the injury and recovery time. Insinuations that he left without reason are unsubstantiated and incorrect, given that staying on the field risked a more serious injury.
In addition, Džeko was not even planned for the trip to Japan – says Ligata.
